Gurpal Singh Principal Lawyer
Gurpal Singh is a highly accomplished Solicitor and Barrister with over quarter of a century of professional legal experience. Born in the State of Punjab, India, Gurpal was educated at Punjab University, Chandigarh where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree of Economics and Bachelor of Laws Degree, graduating in 1992. He commenced his law practice at Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh and the Supreme Court of India New Delhi, India. Through experience over time, Gurpal’s professional repertoire expanded to include Commercial, Corporate Advisory, White Collar Crime, and Family Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Private International Law.
In 2006, Gurpal visited Australia, was and was captivated by the Australian way of life and natural beauty. Gurpal decided to stay and obtained residency in the sub-class of legal professional -Solicitor and Barrister.
Gurpal has taught at LaTrobe University in the areas of Commercial Law and Corporate Law to undergraduate law students and postgraduate accounting students respectively for a number of years. Gurpal also introduced a Masters’ level law subject (LL.M) on Foreign Direct Investments with a focus on India (Inbound).
Gurpal holds Two Masters Degrees in Laws (LaTrobe), a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (The Collage of Law), Diploma in Law (Conflict of Laws) (Sydney) and also studied Chinese Business Law at Shanghai University China.
Gurpal set up his first legal office in partnership in Coburg (2008) later adding premises in the Melbourne CBD (2014) and Blackburn (2018). Gurpal manages the business of the firm as Principal Lawyer. Gurpal has successfully handled legal matters at different courts in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in the areas of Business Law, Property Law, Family Law, Deceased Estate(s), Corporate law, Defamation, Migration and White-Collar Crime. His clientele is similarly diverse, ranging across the many cultural communities of Victoria and Australia.
Gurpal’s extensive legal experience spans fields as diverse as commercial, criminal and family law, civil litigation, trans-national and immigration issues.
Gurpal is married and lives with his wife and son. Family and faith are the twin cores of Gurpal’s life. Gurpal is a lifelong practitioner of the Sikh faith, the world’s fifth largest religious community. Gurpal views Sikh values as epitomised by the pursuit of a disciplined life, honesty and the equality of all mankind.
